GREENSBORO — Greensboro police said today that six of its officers were involved in a fatal shooting Friday morning.

Officer E.A. Early
Officer C.S. Peach
Shawn Lee Gordon, 25, died Friday afternoon after being shot during a standoff with police at 1504½ American Legion St. earlier in the day. Police said Gordon pointed a handgun at officers. Police said Gordon was standing on his front porch, but Gordon's family members said he was inside when he was shot.
The State Bureau of Investigation is probing the incident, which is standard procedure when police officers are involved in a shooting.
The police department released no other information about the officers involved.
