— A man who was seen hiding power tools threatened a Home Depot employee with a box cutter early Tuesday morning before fleeing, police said.

Matthew Fenner, a loss prevention officer at the home improvement store at 2912 S. Elm-Eugene St., told Greensboro police a customer spotted someone concealing power tools and leaving.

Fenner confronted the man in the parking lot. The man brandished a box cutter and threatened Fenner before fleeing, police said.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his mid 50s, with salt and pepper colored hair.

He stands 6 feet to 6-foot-2 and weighs approximately 180 pounds. His teeth were in poor condition, police said.

He was wearing a brown jacket, brown toboggan and white tennis shoes.

Police ask those with information to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
