(Updated Tuesday, February 9 - 4:25 pm)

Located in the center of Bur-Mil Park is the Bur-Mil Clubhouse Meeting and Events Center.

Nine rooms are available to rent for special events, including business meetings and training sessions, corporate parties, company picnics, class and family reunions, wedding receptions and much more.

The newest addition to the building is a 5,000-square-foot terrace with picturesque views of the park and Lake Brandt. The terrace features two pergolas making this area a perfect place for an outdoor wedding.

Business planners can take advantage of Bur-Mil’s meeting rooms, complete with free wireless Internet service.

The clubhouse offers a variety of options when it comes to customer’s food needs — bring your own food, use a caterer of your choice or use our in-house caterer.

Take advantage of the other amenities that Bur-Mil offers during and after your event. Play a round of golf, take a tour of the Wildlife Center or a hike on one of Bur-Mil Park’s trails.

For an appointment to see the Bur-Mil Clubhouse, call 373-3803.
Speaking of trails, Bur-Mil Park’s two natural trails, Big Loop and Little Loop, offer great opportunities for hiking, running, mountain biking and sight seeing. The Big Loop trail winds through wooded areas with scenic views of Lake Brandt.

The Little Loop Trail is a short single-track trail that twists through the woods and offers a quick semi-technical ride for mountain bikers.

For those who are more adventurous, the trail head for the 5.2 mile Owl’s Roost Trail is located in the park. Whether you’re hiking or biking, the Owl’s Roost Trail promises a good workout. This trail was voted the “best urban mountain biking trail” in the country by Bicycling Magazine in 2003. The dips, twists, turns, and hops on the Owl’s Roost Trail make it a regional favorite for single-track riding. It is one of six watershed trails designated as part of the North Carolina Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

The Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway, formerly known as the Lake Brandt Greenway, also passes through Bur-Mil Park. This paved trail leads to the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park and Country Park. There is a great view of Lake Brandt from the H. Michael Weaver Bridge. If you wish to take a detour off of the paved Greenway, you can venture onto one of the unpaved Watershed Trails. For trail maps, stop in at the Frank Sharpe Jr. Wildlife Education Center.

Wildlife and environmental classes are offered in the Frank Sharpe Jr. Wildlife Education Center on an ongoing basis. Join us to learn more about Recycling in Greensboro from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 16 or 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9. This free class covers the importance of recycling, what happens to the recyclable materials when they leave the recycling center and Greensboro’s recycling program.

On Jan. 29, join us for a night of fun and fabulous prizes as we quiz your wildlife knowledge during Wildlife Jeopardy. From 6 to 8 p.m, families are encouraged to attend to test wits against each other and their neighbors. Grand prize winner will receive one year of free programs at the Wildlife Center. This class costs $2.

With so many opportunities for winter fun at Bur-Mil, we hope you and your family will visit Bur-Mil Park and the Frank Sharpe. Jr. Wildlife Education Center.
