There is a chance of a wintry mix after sunrise Tuesday in the Triad.
A light glaze of ice will be possible Tuesday morning before changing over to rain by mid morning, according to the National Weather Service in Raleigh. No significant icing is expected. After the rain ends Tuesday night, temperatures are expected to fall below freezing, so areas of ice will likely form on the roads Wednesday morning. The high temperature on Tuesday is expected to be 36 degrees.
Wednesday is expected to be sunny, but a west wind of 10 to 13 mph is expected to increase to between 21 and 24 mph. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
The good news: After Tuesday, there is no precipitation in the forecast through at least Sunday.
