GREENSBORO — An employee at 24/7 Tires of Greensboro thwarted a robbery Saturday after pointing a shotgun at the suspects, prompting them to flee, police said.
One of the workers at the business at 1332 N. O'Henry Blvd. told Greensboro police he was approached by three suspects including one who was armed with a handgun.
They demanded money. The employee yelled in Spanish to his co-worker that the place was being robbed. The other employee retrieved a shotgun and pointed it at the suspects, who then fled, according to police.
One man was arrested and charged with attempted robbery, possession of a handgun by a minor and conspiracy to commit a felony. Police identified him as Dominique Demond Menser, 18, of 1305 Grove St. He is being held in the Guilford County jail on a $50,000 bond.
A second man was detained but has not yet been charged.
Police ask those with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 373-1000.
