Man charged with raping, assaulting woman
WINSTON-SALEM — A 26-year-old man faces charges he raped and assaulted a woman he had been dating before the relationship recently ended, police said.
The woman was physically assaulted, sexually assaulted, and held against her will Saturday at the home of Jose Merly Henriquez, of 3690 Yarbrough Ave., Apt. 26, according to Winston-Salem police.
She was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Henriquez was charged with kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, assault by strangulation, communicating threats and two counts of first-degree rape, according to police.
He was being held without bond in the Forsyth County jail.
