Athletics events for public schools in Guilford and Rockingham counties are canceled for today.

Meanwhile, regional swimming meets involving area teams, scheduled for Saturday in Goldsboro and Hillsborough, have been pushed back to Sunday. 

The Class 3-A Eastern Regional will be in Goldsboro, featuring swimmers from Northern Guilford, Eastern Guilford, McMichael and Morehead. Competition will begin shortly after noon at the Goldsboro Family YMCA.

The Class 4-A Central Regional will be in Hillsborough, with swimmers competing for Page, Grimsley, Northwest Guilford, Western Guilford, Southeast Guilford and East Forsyth. Competition will begin at 2 p.m. at the Triangle Sports Plex.

This list of events scheduled for today will be updated as new game dates are determined.

Andrews at Randleman

Eastern Guilford at Williams; rescheduled for Feb. 13, girls will play at 2:30 p.m., followed by the boys game at 4.

Flora McDonald at Oak Ridge; rescheduled for Wednesday, boys only, 7 p.m.

Glenn at Southwest Guilford; rescheduled for Feb. 13, girls will play at 2 p.m. followed by the boys at 3:30 p.m.

Greensboro Day at Oak Ridge; rescheduled for Wednesday, girls only, 5:30 p.m.

Grimsley at Smith

Ledford at Southwestern Randolph

McMichael at Western Alamance; rescheduled for Thursday.

Morehead at Northern Guilford

North Forsyth at Northeast Guilford

Northwest Guilford at Parkland; rescheduled for Wednesday

COLLEGES

Greensboro College's season-opening baseball games for this weekend have been postponed. No makeup dates have been scheduled.

Guilford men's basketball game at Washington & Lee has been moved from tomorrow to Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. The home women's basketball game against Eastern Mennonite has been moved from tomorrow to Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. 

Guilford's next track and field field competition is the Mountaineer Open Feb. 18 at Appalachian State.

Guilford will play baseball at Piedmont College Sunday and Monday, instead of Saturday and Sunday.

Guilford men's and women's tennis matches with Winston-Salem State University scheduled for Sunday, have been postponed indefinitely.
