6 face charges after assault video posted on YouTube
REIDSVILLE — Six people face charges after an assault in a Reidsville park was captured on video and posted on YouTube.
About 1:10 p.m. Jan. 20, six teens attacked a 14-year-old, according to a police news release. All are Reidsville High School students, and the assault occurred away from campus during school hours. The incident was recorded by onlookers and the video was later placed online.
The assault was not reported to police, but officers learned of the incident and saw the video online Jan. 22. Investigators identified the seven people involved; there were at least 10 other onlookers.
Six teens were arrested and charged with assault inflicting serious injury and common-law robbery. Four are juveniles whose names were not released; the other two are Damien Bowe, 16, and Jeffrey Hodge, 16.
This incident is still under investigation by the Reidsville Police Department.
