Homicide suspect arrested in Reidsville

WENTWORTH — A man wanted in connection with a homicide in Virginia was arrested early today in Reidsville.

The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office said a detective arrested Tremain Alando Thomas in the parking lot of Lowe's Home Improvement at 5201 Business 29 at 2:25 a.m. Thursday. He is being held without bond in the Rockingham County Jail and has waived extradition.

Thomas, 20, of 117 Springdale Drive in Stoneville, faces charges of second degree murder, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony in connection with an incident in the Henry County, Va., community of Axton.

On Tuesday afternoon, Henry County deputies found one man dead and another man wounded in a vehicle at at Hobson and Irisburg roads. Authorities identified the man who had been fatally shot as Akoreon JaJuantez “AJ” Murphy of 207 Madison St. in Eden.
