Stoneville man wanted in Eden man's death

MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Warrants have been issued for a 20-year-old Stoneville man after deputies in Virginia found an Eden man slain on Tuesday.

The Henry County, Va., Sheriff's Office said it is seeking Tremain Alando Thomas of 117 Springdale Drive in Stoneville on charges of second degree murder, malicioius wounding and two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony.

The sheriff's office said Akoreon JaJuantez “AJ” Murphy of 207 Madison St. in Eden was found dead in a vehicle at Hobson and Irisburg roads in the Axton community at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies said Murphy had been fatally shot.

A second man in the vehicle was wounded. That man, 27-year-old Demarcus LaVon Hairston of Ranson Road in Martinsville, Va., was treated at and released from Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
