THOMASVILLE – A teacher at Thomasville High School faces charges of having sexual contact with a student.
Edward Heath Williamson, 33, was charged Friday with two counts of sex offense between a teacher and student, Thomasville police said today. The charges, which are felonies, regulate sexual contact between teachers and students regardless of age and consent.
The victim is a student at the high school who is older than 16, according to a police news release.
Williamson received a $10,000 unsecured bond. Police said the investigation began Jan. 19.
Williamson is the technology facilitator for the high school, according to the school's Web site.
