GREENSBORO — A 41-year-old man wanted on charges of identity theft and obtaining property by false pretense turned himself in to police today.

Reginald Lamard Torrence of Jamestown is being held on a $5,000 bond in the Guilford County jail.

Greensboro police said the charges stemmed from an incident at Weaver Academy on Oct. 15. Police said a man claiming to be a coach at a high school in Charlotte wanted gas money to get back home. The suspect got $20 from the student.

Torrence was featured in the Jan. 18 edition of "Guilford County's Most Wanted," which runs each Monday in the News & Record. He is the 149th of 208 suspects to have been arrested, found or turned themselves in since February 2008.
