Man charged in 5 Winston-Salem robberies

WINSTON-SALEM — A 38-year-old man has been charged in connection with five recent robberies.

William Rhodes, who has no permanent address, was arrested Thursday about two hours after the Circle K at 5701 University Parkway was robbed. Police on Tuesday said Rhodes faces charges in robberies of four other stores:

* Family Fare BP at 3836 Reynolda Road

* J&B Food Mart at 5216 Germanton Road

* Wilco No. 114 at 6205 University Parkway

* Merita Bakery Thrift Store at 101 Polo Road.

Rhodes was charged with five counts of common law robbery and remains in the Forsyth County jail on a bond of $77,500.

Police did not say how much money was taken in those robberies. No injuries were reported.
