A Greensboro man faces charges after 15.4 pounds of marijuana were seized from a vehicle after a traffic stop Monday in Davidson County.
Deputies stopped a 2000 Dodge Intrepid on Interstate 85 southbound in Thomasville for following to close about 4 p.m. A police dog helped lead authorities to the marijuana in the trunk, according to a news release from the Davidson County Sheriff's Office.
The driver and only occupant, Rafael Rodriguez Bustamente, 40, of 4625 McKnight Mill Road in Greensboro, was charged with trafficking marijuana by possession, trafficking marijuana by transportation, trafficking marijuana by manufacture, felony maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bustamente was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $125,000 secured bond.
