Willie, one of two polar bears at the N.C. Zoo, wallows in man-made snow at the park. Zookeepers are able to use a snow machine in the exhibit when temperature and humidity conditions allow, usually four to six times per winter. The zoo is planning an expansion of the bears’ exhibit.
