The FBI believes that a man who robbed three North Carolina banks on Tuesday is likely the same man dubbed the "Bearcat Bandit" who recently robbed several banks in the Triad.

The most recent robberies occurred in Statesville, Hickory and Mocksville. In each case, the male thief entered the bank, presented a note claiming he had a bomb and demanded money.

The FBI has posted photos from two of the robberies at www.ncbankrobbers.com.

Previous robberies linked to the same man occurred in Greensboro, High Point, Burlington and elsewhere in North and South Carolina. In the robberies, the man is wearing Cincinnati Bearcats clothing.
