DANVILLE, Va. — A Danville, Va., man faces charges he shot his wife several times.
The woman, whom police did not identify, was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to a press release.
About 11 p.m. Tuesday, Danville police received a call regarding someone being shot in the 500 block of Bradley Road.
Officers found a woman suffering multiple gunshot wounds. She told investigators her husband shot her, police said.
At 1:18 a.m. Wednesday, the Caswell County Sheriff's Office reported they had apprehended Homer Wilkerson on N.C. 86 about four miles south of Yanceyville.
Warrants were obtained charging him with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Wilkerson was being held in the Caswell County jail without bond while awaiting extradition back to Virginia.
