ESPN's broadcast of last Saturday's NCAA Division I Football Championship semifinal between Appalachian State and Montana was the highest-rated FCS postseason game ever.

The broadcast of the 24-17 thriller drew a 1.9 rating (4 share) and an estimated 2,547,000 viewers nationwide.

RAMBLIN' ON? At least four juniors who played lead roles in Georgia Tech's ACC championship could enter the NFL draft after the Orange Bowl against Iowa.

Defensive end Derrick Morgan tops the list of juniors who say they will examine their draft options after No. 9 Georgia Tech's bowl game.

Receiver Demaryius Thomas, running back Jonathan Dwyer and safety Morgan Burnett also are possibilities to enter the draft.

BIG TEN EXPANSION: The Big Ten might be getting bigger. Commissioner Jim Delany said the conference is going to explore options over the next 12 to 18 months for expanding the league.

Notre Dame rejected an offer 10 years ago. Earlier this year, Penn State coach Joe Paterno said he'd like to see Rutgers, Pittsburgh or Syracuse join the league.
