GREENSBORO – The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro announced today that it has rescheduled its annual luncheon featuring retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.

The event will occur at noon on March 8 at The Empire Room in downtown Greensboro.

The event originally was planned for November but was postponed because of the failing health of O’Connor’s husband, who died the day the luncheon was to be held.

The foundation will honor the tickets of those who already purchased them for the original November event. If a ticketholder is unable to attend on March 8, the foundation will offer a full refund on the ticket. The event is currently sold out.

At the luncheon, the foundation will present its highest honor, the Thornton H. Brooks Leadership Award, to Bonnie McElveen-Hunter, founder and CEO of Pace Communications in Greensboro, former U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Finland and chairwoman of the national American Red Cross.
