Woman robs pharmacy, prompts hospital lockdown

LEXINGTON — A woman robbed a pharmacy Wednesday afternoon, prompting a lockdown at nearby Lexington Memorial Hospital.

The woman stole medication at gunpoint in the Medical Park Pharmacy at 2316 S. Main St. in Lexington about 3:30 p.m., according to a news release from police. She ran from the scene.

The hospital was locked down overnight as police searched the area. The lockdown was lifted this morning, Fox8 reported.

Police said the woman was white and wore camouflage clothing. She was about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed between 100 and 120 pounds.

Police ask anyone with information to call them at 243-3303.
