Help with holiday meals is available in the area Thursday:

Community Thanksgiving Day service and lunch, 10:30 a.m., St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 315 Lindsey St., Reidsville. Worship at 10:30 a.m. Lunch at 11 a.m. Information: 349-3511.

Thanksgiving Day meal, 10:30 a.m., Potter’s House, Greensboro Urban Ministry, 305 W. Lee St., sponsored by Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro’s Thanksgiving Fund.

Thanksgiving Day meal, 11 a.m., Carter Brothers Barbecue restaurant, 2305 N. Main St., High Point, sponsored by His Laboring Few Ministries.

Thanksgiving meal, 11 a.m., Harrison’s Deli, 1807 N. Main St., High Point. Meal available to those in need; also open to others (donations welcome). Information: 883-0030.

Fresh Manna Cafe, 116 E. Main St., Jamestown, will enlist the help of Cub Scouts to deliver meals to needy families. Information: 887-0001.

Thanksgiving Day meal, 6 p.m., The Hive, 1214 Grove St., Greensboro, sponsored by The Hive and Food Not Bombs.

GREENSBORO URBAN MINISTRY'S MEAL

Greensboro Urban Ministry and volunteers will prepare a meal for the homeless Thursday.

By the numbers:

4,000: Number of people who will be served.

1,200: Pounds of turkey.

300: Pounds of ham.

1,000: Pounds of sweet potatoes.

1,000: Pounds of mashed potatoes.

1,000: Pounds of green beans.

1,000: Pounds of stuffing.

250: Pounds of cranberry sauce.

8,000: Rolls.

575: Pumpkin pies.

500: Gallons of milk.

$12,000: Cost of the meal.
