College men: Sanborn's double-double lifts Guilford

GUILFORD 81, AVERETT 56: Tyler Sanborn dominated inside with 19 points and 18 rebounds as Guilford remained undefeated with an 81-56 victory over Averett at Ragan-Brown Field House.

Sanborn made 9 of 12 shots from the floor and helped the Quakers (3-0) win the rebounding battle 51-39, and Guilford held Averett to 34.4 percent shooting for the game. Gabriel Lowder added 14 points for Guilford.

YALE 69, ELON 65: Two free throws by Porter Braswell with 13 seconds to play gave Yale its first advantage since the opening minutes of the game as the Bulldogs battled back from a nine-point deficit to defeat Elon at the Preseason NIT Tip-off in Hempstead, N.Y.

Elon (2-4) had three players in double figures, led by Adam Constantine's 16 points on 7-of-9 from the field. Josh Bonney added 15 and Terrence Birdette netted a career-high 11 points.
