Duke women finish season with tourney

Sophomore Carly Seymour earned All-America honors as the Duke University cross country women's and men's teams finished the 2009 season Monday at the NCAA Championships, hosted by Indiana State University.

Duke women finished eighth, their highest NCAA team finish since the 2005 squad earned third place. The men tied for 28th.

HONORS

GREENSBORO COLLEGE: Chakiris Moss and Bianca Richburg have been named USA South basketball rookies of the week for men's and women's programs, respectively.

SIGNINGS

HIGH POINT UNIVERSITY: Five players will join the baseball team in 2010-11: Pitcher Cody Allen, a junior who has played for the University of Central Florida and St. Petersburg College; fielder and reliever Anthony Figliolia, a junior transfer from UCF; outfielder Maverick Miles from North Rowan High; pitcher Preston Packrall from Clearwater Central Catholic in Florida; pitcher Pat Quinn, a junior transfer who has played at UCF and St. Petersburg.
