GREENSBORO 61, BRIDGEWATER (VA.) 59: Junior guard Nikki Wilborn hit a 3-point shot with one second left as the Pride (1-2) stunned the Eagles on Saturday night in the consolation game of the Randolph-Macon tournament in Ashland, Va.
Wilborn finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and freshman Bianca Richburg had 17 points and nine boards. A Richburg steal set up Wilborn's 3, which gave Randy Tuggle his first victory as the Pride's head coach.
GUILFORD 68, WILKES (PA.) 54: Ann Seufer hit five three-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Quakers to a victory in the consolation game of the Jim Crawley Tournament in Frostburg, Md.
Playing its third game in four days, Guilford (2-1) forced 17 first-half turnovers and used a late flurry to take a 36-24 halftime lead.
TOWSON 74, N.C. A&T 69: Ta'Wuana "Tweet" Cook scored 25 points, but the Aggies (1-2) fell to the Tigers (2-1) in the consolation round of the Preseason WNIT in Towson, Md. Shanae Baker-Brice scored 21 points to lead Towson, which committed 26 turnoves while A&T had 25.
PEACE 69, BENNETT 39: Asia Smith scored 12 points, but she had little offensive support as the Belles (1-5) fell to the Pacers (1-1) in the thid-place game of the Jackie Ammons Memorial Tournament in Raleigh.
WAKE FOREST 78, MIAMI (OHIO) 62: Junior Brittany Waters had 33 points and 12 rebounds as the Demon Deacons (3-0) rolled over the RedHawks (1-2) in Oxford, Ohio. Waters' career-high 33 points was the best single-game performance by a Wake player since Deirdre Naughton had 37 against Savannah State on Feb. 21, 2006.
