Small acts of kindness aren’t necessarily considered small by the recipients.
Our 9-year-old grandson recently completed his first season of peewee football for Lewis Recreation Center. We want to publicly thank Coach Everett Meadows — he’s known as Coach E — and Coach Walt York for their genuine encouragement, patience and concern toward each young player.
Thanks to their efforts, our grandson improved his performance, and he looks forward to playing again next season as he moves up to the next level. Both coaches sincerely supported and recognized the individual players on their team.
We could not have asked for a better set of coaches during his initial season, and we will greatly miss them.
Special thanks are also due to Coach Phil Hardin who manages/directs Lewis Recreation Center for his assistance and encouragement throughout our grandson’s time there.
In addition, our daughter’s vehicle was parked in front of the rec center one evening a few weeks ago and would not start. Coach E waited with us for a couple of hours until the issue was resolved. This, of course, delayed his going home to his family for supper and enjoying the remainder of his evening.
