Police in Spartanburg, S.C., believe a man who robbed a bank there on Wednesday is the same man who has robbed several banks in the Triad, the Spartanburg Herald-Journal reported Friday.

The physical characteristics of the man in Wednesday's robbery and his note demanding money matched that of a man who robbed the Bank of America at 698 Hanes Mall Blvd. in Winston-Salem on Nov. 5. That man closely resembles the suspect in the Oct. 21 robbery of the BB&T on Westchester Drive in High Point and in the Oct. 23 robbery of the First Citizens Bank at 3200 Randleman Road in Greensboro.

The man has been described as white, about 45 years old, 200 pounds and 5 feet 8 inches tall.  He had a dark beard and was wearing a baseball cap, red bandana, green shirt and a dark jacket. A surveillance camera photo shows a University of Cincinnati Bearcats logo on the jacket’s left breast.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity is urged to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000 or local police.
