CHARLOTTE – The FBI’s Charlotte Division issued an alert Friday seeking information on a man accused of shooting a woman in the stomach and leaving her for dead.
Authorities are looking for Phillip Thomas Williams, aka “Scoob,” who is wanted on charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and attempted murder.
Detectives say Williams, 36, shot a woman in the stomach while she was making an ATM deposit in Cary in June 2007.
Witnesses reported seeing Williams leave with two other men in a burgundy-colored Buick with New York plates. The other two suspects have been arrested.
Williams is a black man around 6'4 and 170 pounds. The FBI believes he may have altered his appearance from what is seen in the photo.
Anyone with information about Williams is urged to call the Charlotte Division of the FBI at 704-377-9200.
