The government Web site, Recovery.gov, is designed to track jobs saved or created by the $787 billion Obama stimulus.
The site reports jobs as saved or created in congressional districts, such as 30 jobs in Arizona’s 15th District. One problem, Arizona has no 15th District. Nor do other states have some districts listed where hundreds of millions were supposedly spent.
Before the naysayers believe this must be right-wing talking points, this was aired on World News with Charlie Gibson Nov. 16. Even the mainstream media are waking up.
If this administration cannot accurately track which congressional districts exist and where the stimulus money is going, why do some think it can efficiently manage the nation’s health care system? Why do some think they can create “green jobs” by taxing industry, thus raising the cost of energy? Why do some think they can move 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to New York City, spend tens of millions and successfully prosecute him?
I explained the concept of massive government debt to my young son. When he asked who was going to pay, I told him he and his yet-to-be-born children and grandchildren. Quoting John McCain, I told him it is “generational theft.”
