LEXINGTON — A Colfax man has been charged with 55 counts of embezzling radio equipment from his former employer.

Ralph Timothy Lamb, 42, of 8525 Farrington Road in Colfax turned himself in to authorities Nov. 15. He was initially charged with three counts of felony embezzlement, but detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff's Office later added 52 more charges. Lamb is being held in the Davidson County jail on a $200,000 bond.

According to the sheriff's office, the owner or Radiohead 2Way at 5500 N.C. 150 North in the Reedy Creek community reported Nov. 7 that someone had stolen radio equipment from the business. The owner said the items were found to be missing after an employee quit.

The items were stolen between December 2008 and this month, deputies said. They did not say exactly what was stolen or how much it was worth. Some of the stolen property has already been recovered, the sheriff's office said.

Lamb used to be the company's general manager and was in charge of merchandising, purchasing and daily operations, the sheriff's office said.
