OPINION

When drivers see light, our streets become safer

With the recent daily rains, it is incumbent that all drivers recognize that it is against the law to drive in the rain without turning on headlights. It also helps you to have windshield wipers going.

I asked a policeman why tickets were not written for drivers who violate this law. He stated that he did not have time to write such tickets because he was too busy investigating wrecks in the rain caused by people driving without headlights. Enough said.

I would like to know why they dont write tickets for lots of things such as people who constantly speed through traffic, cut people off, no turn signals, dont yield when they are supposed to, and drive a black car at 9pm in the rain with NO lights on ? Even after flashing my lights he didnt turn them on. I moved to GBORO so i wouldnt have to drive 45 minutes to work with the idiots on the road, but even 15 minutes of it makes my blood boil daily!! Course I never see a police car unless its a wreck.

It is an obvious continuation of lack of regulatory enforcement from the Bush administration.

"It also helps you to have windshield wipers going."

Really? So that's what that switch is for?

Must be a slow ltte day when the N&R runs a ltte from a guy telling people to turn on their windshield wipers when it's raining. Can the car czar help with this? How about a multi-million dollar govt. ad campaign?

It's also neat that the harder you push the gas pedal, the faster the car goes...

OMG - folks driving in the rain without their headlights on - maybe now we will get that needed "driving in the rain czar" - BTW, I never use turn signals, it's absolutely nobody's business where I'm going -
