HIGH POINT — Three teens have been charged in the shooting of a clerk and robbery of a convenience store Wednesday.
All three teens charged live in High Point and are students at Southwest High School, which is near where the shooting occurred. They were charged with the same crimes — assault with a deadly weapon, robbery with a dangerous weapon and attempted murder — and are being held in the Guilford County jail in High Point on bonds of $400,000 each.
The three arrested Wednesday night were:
* Antonio Del'Rio Gutierrez, 17, of 3940 Fountain Grove Drive
* Robert Emmanuel Napper, 17, of 1010 Montlieu Ave.
* Gregory Lamar Stephenson, 18, of 407 Crestline Drive
The arrests followed the wounding of Waqar Gilani, a 23-year-old Archdale man who works at the SkeetClub Grocery at 1533-C Skeet Club Road. Gilani was shot Wednesday morning as he worked in the store in the Parrish Plaza shopping center.
He was treated at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, which did not release his condition Thursday.
Police did not say what, if anything, was taken.
