This weekend, enjoy the first Carolina ’ShineFest, sit down to a pancake supper, take part in a community project or attend holiday events.
Tonight is the kickoff for the R. Duane Best Auditorium Seat Replacement Project at Morehead High School. A total of 1,700 seats need to be replaced. Attend the event and learn how you can help.
Get in the holiday spirit this weekend in downtown Reidsville with Friday night’s Christmas tree lighting and Saturday’s open house and nighttime Christmas parade. Take a horse-and-carriage ride, visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy holiday shopping and bring a can of food or a child’s toy to help those less fortunate.
And the Southern Culture Society presents the inaugural Carolina ’ShineFest on Saturday and Sunday in downtown Madison. Take a trip back in time to Prohibition and learn about North Carolina’s moonshine heritage. This family event include tours of the only legal distillery in North Carolina, appearances by moonshine and NASCAR legend Junior Johnson, a display of authentic moonshine bootlegging cars and much more. Come on out and share stories of the moonshine days.
