WINSTON-SALEM — A man faces charges after police say he robbed the same convenience store four days apart.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, Winston-Salem police were called to the Fairway One Stop at 225 S. Broad St. after the store was robbed. Witnesses told police that a man displayed a long gun and demanded money, then fled after grabbing some grocery items.

Police said a police dog tracked the suspect to some kudzu growth in the 500 block of Wachovia Street, about four blocks from the store. When the man refused an officer's request to come out of the brush, the police dog bit him.

Police said the man was treated at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for minor unspecified injuries.

Nicholas Dwayne McKey, 31, who has no permanent address, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

On Monday, police charged McKey in two additional robberies: the same Fairway One Stop on Wednesday and the In 'n' Out Mart at 110 S. Broad St. last Tuesday. Police said last week that they suspected the same man robbed both stores.

McKey remains in the Forsyth County jail on a bond of $85,000.
