GREENSBORO — Two men robbed a couple who had entered their vehicle Monday night after eating at a Waffle House, police said.
About 9:15 p.m., Steve Moore and his wife Cynthia were entering their vehicle at the restaurant at 4302 Big Tree Way when the men ran toward them from the woods, according to Greensboro police.
One man assaulted Steve Moore. The other man pushed Cynthia Moore down and grabbed her purse, police said.
They received bruises and abrasions but refused medical treatment, according to police.
The men were last seen running into the woods toward the Microtel Hotel.
A perimeter was established and a police dog tracked the suspects to the hotel parking lot.
A witness at the hotel told police two women drove into the lot in a maroon Honda and let the men out just before the time of the robbery.
Police described the men as black, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with thin builds. They each had short hair and were wearing black T-shirts. One man was wearing black pants. The other was wearing dark pants.
Police ask those with information to call Crimestoppers at 373-1000.
