GREENSBORO — A survey crew found skeletal remains today behind a house northeast of the city limits.
The Guilford County Sheriff's Office was called to a wooded area behind a home in the 4000 block of Hicone Road about 9:30 a.m. today. The area is between Summit Avenue and U.S. 29
Maj. Tom Sheppard said deputies do not know the person's identity or how the person died.
Sheppard said the bones had been there "a good while" — perhaps a year or longer.
Deputies will check missing person reports for leads on the victim's identity. Anyone with information can call the sheriff's office at 641-3355.
