BURLINGTON — Burlington police are seeking a male suspect who they say attempted to rob two women at gunpoint Tuesday morning.
At about 10:45 a.m., officers responded to the Biscuitville restaurant at 2045 N. Church St. on a armed robbery call. Two female victims said they were walking along Church Street when a man carrying a semi-automatic weapon demanded money.
He fled the scene without receiving any money from the victims. He was last seen running across North Church Street toward Cum-Park Plaza.
No one was harmed during the attempted robbery.
A K-9 unit was used to track the suspect but did not locate him.
Police describe the suspect as a black male, about 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 11 inches tall and weighing 170 to 190 pounds. He was wearing a green shirt, a black jacket with a multi-colored design, blue jeans and tennis shoes.
Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call Burlington police at 229-3500 or Crimestoppers at 229-7100.
