Watt did right thing

On Nov. 7, our U.S. House made history and passed the Affordable Health Care for America Act. This is the first comprehensive health care bill passed by a chamber of Congress. Rep. Mel Watt should be commended for his courageous vote and for standing up for his constituents.

I hope that representatives who did not vote for the bill will do so when it comes up for the final House vote. It would expand health care coverage for those who do not have insurance, improve coverage for Americans with insurance and lower costs for families.

JDR, what do you think of this related article in today's paper? Personally, I think it's a sample of what we'll see with government running health care (i.e. "rationing"). I wonder whether Dr. Greene (an OB-GYN) thinks mammograms should be spaced apart 2 years instead of one after age 50? The many women I've met who were diagnosed with breast cancer before 50 would argue with this recommendation.

Everything is relative. As an almost 64 year old woman, I think the older a woman gets, the less often she should have a mammogram.

I watched ABC news tonight and women aren't buying the 50/2 years bit.

You are spot on Dr. Huck, this is a precursor to rationing of services under Obamacare.

How often do you get a mammogram Yvonne? Every two years?

This sounds like the greedy Doctor wants to get paid with the tax payers money.
