Teen arrested after threatened school shooting

GRAHAM — An 18-year-old from Alamance County faces charges after a threat was made against a high school program.

The Alamance County Sheriff's Office said an instructor at the Middle College got threats on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 that there would be a mass shooting on the campus. The Middle College is a high school program operated by the Alamance-Burlington School System and located at Alamance Community College.

On Friday, warrants were issued for the arrest of Markise Antonio White. He turned himself in to Burlington police on Saturday.

White, who has addresses in Burlington and Graham, is being held in the Alamance County jail on a $100,000 bond. He was charged with making a false report of mass violence on educational property, a felony, and communicating threats.
