WASHINGTON & LEE 67, GREENSBORO 55: Ben Goetsch scored a game-high 29 points as host Washington & Lee defeated Greensboro College 67-55 in Lexington, Va., on Sunday in the season opener for both teams.

Lewis Owenby scored a team-high 14 points to lead the Pride. Owenby also pulled down eight rebounds, also a team-high. Andre Porter added 10 points.

The Pride committed 17 turnovers to Washington & Lee's 11. The General won the battle of the boards, 38-37.

Greensboro looks for its first victory Wednesday night when The Pride faces Guilford at the Greensboro Coliseum. Tip-off is 8 p.m.
