GREENSBORO -- No children were hurt when their bus and a beer truck side-swiped each other late Monday afternoon. The accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. on Burnetts Chapel Road west of Highway 220, Trooper A.A. Chehaitli said.
Chehaitli said neither Terry Powers, the bus driver, nor Coy Clendenin, the truck driver, would be charged. Both drivers claimed the other crossed the center line before the accident and there were no witnesses, Chehaitli said.
Powers was driving 48 Southern Middle School students. One student reported being hurt and Powers had a cut to his nose from glass but both were examined at the scene by emergency medical responders and not taken to the hospital, Chehaitli said.
