RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Court of Appeals Judge Sanford Steelman is seeking another eight-year term on North Carolina's second-highest court.
Steelman announced Monday he'll run again in 2010 and has filed paperwork with the State Board of Elections to participate in the voluntary public financing program for appellate court judges.
Steelman lives in suburban Charlotte and was a Superior Court judge before being elected to the 15-member appeals court in 2002, defeating incumbent Loretta Biggs.
Steelman said in a news release he has authored more than 700 opinions and dissents while on the Court of Appeals, which hears cases in three-judge panels.
