MAYODAN — A 24-year-old Walnut Cove man was beaten by three men while he was sleeping last week.
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office said Michael Dustin Corns was asleep in a bedroom at 378 River Road when three men entered the house and attacked him. His attackers ran off when Corns made it to the porch of the house.
The attack happened shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday. Jackets belonging to Corns and another man were reported stolen.
Corns was treated at an area hospital for undisclosed injuries. His condition was unavailable Monday. Two other men in the house were unhurt.
