I am disappointed in U.S. Rep. Brad Miller’s vote in favor of HR 3692. Even though the Obama administration says it was passed by a bipartisan majority, that is not accurate; only one Republican voted in favor of the bill.
The bill narrowly passed the “majority” vote of 218 by two votes. Congress can do better by not cutting Medicare benefits on senior citizens, and by addressing in the bill the ability of companies to sell policies across state lines to give us more choice. Also, why won’t they address tort reform?
I hope Rep. Miller will consider amending the present bill to deal with these issues before the second vote.
