GREENSBORO -- N.C. A&T sophomore Nic Simpson scored 18 of his game-high 21 points in the second half to lead the Aggies to a 92-63 win over Brevard on Friday at Corbett Sports Center.

The Aggies were 15-for-39 from the 3-point range with Simpson going 5-for-10.

Seniors Robert Johnson and Tavarus Alston added four 3-pointers apiece and finished with 18 and 20 points, respectively.

Thomas Coleman had his third career double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, four of them offensive. He also had five blocks.

The Aggies also forced 22 Tornado turnovers.

"I think the key was our full court pressure,'' A&T head coach Jerry Eaves said.

"If we had of played them in a half-court set, they would have had an opportunity to beat us. Our pressure got some opportunities to get out in the open floor. We want to shoot more threes on the break this year, and those turnovers allowed us to do that."

After a slow start, the Tornadoes were able to get to within five at 21-16 in the first half. But the Aggies went on a 14-3 run keyed by two Alston 3-pointers to put the up by double figures for good.
