Next, cut drug prices

I would hope that the next test for the Senate would be to put together a health bill that lowers increases in drug prices and premiums. I have received my 2010 statement with a big increase cost for both items!

How will I pay for them? I have a fixed income of $1,100 monthly.

And don’t touch Medicare.

They may very well do that Mr. Amoroso, then vote to increase your electric bill by $1700 next year.

Bring your grandchildren into your home - provide day care while their parents are working. Qualify then for WIC and Food Stamp programs. These two steps will qualify you as a Producer with full support from the Sarah Pailn Crowd .. and life will be good.

About a year ago my mama and my aunt switched all their prescriptions to the WalMart pharmacy and saved considerqble dollars compared to where they had previously had their prescriptions filled - also WalMart seems to have the best prices for over the counter health aids -

Wal Mart did more to lower drug prices than any govt. plan has.

Take two aspirin and get used to it. Call Obama, Reid and Pelosi in the morning. By the time the Democrats are through, drug innovation and development will take place overseas. We subsidize the research and development of medicine for the rest of the world and pay more for the privilege. We are prevented from buying those medicines in that world market. When congress gets through screwing with patent protection, and it's health care fixes, drug innovation will be a foreign industry and we'll be paying more. " ..and don't touch Medicare". I agree let that $89.3 Trillion unfunded liability with Medicaid go broke.

Alex, You seem to have been following the news about upcoming healthcare changes somewhat. Ghost is correct that Medicare will be messed up especially if you have a Medicare Advantage plan. The healthcare insurance companies have heard Obama talk about reducing what govt. gives them to help manage Medicare and have raised premiums, copays and some drug prices to cover themselves for 2010 that they stay profitable. Obama back in June supposedly made a deal with PHARMA for their support to have them lower or even maintain their drug prices for seniors on Medicare. Whether the fault lies with the healthcare insurance companies or drug makers some specific drug costs are going up for 2010 from what I have seen. You may want to check and see if the drugs you are taking still are generic and if not have your doctor find a possible generic for 2010 year. From what I have heard the only hope is in the proposed healthcare bill to lessen the doughnut hole. Obama wanting to cut payments to healthcare insurance companies helping run Medicare and calling that waste does not go towards fixing fraud in the system that increased enforcement by govt. to check validity of claims might do. That is what some have stated that if govt. cannot manage Medicare being run right why would govt. be any good at running all of healthcare and having private healthcare insurance businesses shut down totally. Granted it does seem that there are some people in the healthcare insurance business making a whole lot of money. The CEO of BCBSNC for example making 24 million dollars a year. There is discussion with less payments to doctors taking Medicare patients that they may not take such patients in future. There is reason for seniors to worry about their healthcare costs and treatment.
