WINSTON-SALEM — The same man might have robbed two convenience stores on South Broad Street on the same night.
Winston-Salem police said a man with a gun robbed the Fairway One Stop at 225 S. Broad St. shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported, and the man escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The description of the robbery suspect matches that of a man suspected of robbing the In 'n' Out Mart at 110 S. Broad St. about two hours later Tuesday.
Police described the suspect in both incidents as a black man who weighs 180 to 200 pounds and wore black Timberland boots, a black knit hat with a visor and a black vinyl jacket with two stripes around the upper sleeves near the shoulder.
Witnesses said the suspect in the In 'n' Out robbery was between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet tall. An eyewitness in the Fairway robbery put the man at 6 foot 2.
Anyone with information about either incident can call police at 773-7700 or Crimestoppers at 727-2800.
