Book recalls memories of Greensboro’s past

I attended a book reading at Studio B on Friday, Nov. 6, by one of your writers, Lorraine Ahearn.

As she read from her book, “The Man Who Became Santa Claus and other Winter Tales” (a book drawn from many of her columns at the News & Record), Greensboro as it was — and is — came vividly to life.

This is a book every Greensboro resident, especially those who very much miss Ms. Ahearn’s column, should read.

i think i'll pass on this book. ahearn's version of the truth is often at odds with mine. i have lived in greensboro all my life and don't need to read fairy tales to know it or remember it as it actually is and was.
