RR crossing repairs make it even worse

Thursday, November 12, 2009

I don’t know who is responsible for maintaining railroad crossings but somebody needs help. The crossing is on Hilltop Road has been worked on numerous times including yesterday (Nov. 14) and every time after the alleged repair it is worse than before.

If you are not familiar with the road you are liable to go airborne if you don’t slow down to about 5 to 19 mph . There has been one accident in the vicinity and I would not be surprised if the cause was the crossing.

If you have any say on who is responsible, please tell them not to work on it anymore as every time they do it gets worse.

We obviously need a federal Dept. of RR Crossings, and a RR Crossing Czar. That's the only way to handle this problem.

Precisely sawdust. Perhaps we need a Traffic Sign Czar as well. He/she could oversee production of signs like "Railroad Crossing, slow to 5-19 mph or you are liable to go airborne".

Or, you can just slow down before going through the crossing, which people should do anyway.

People are too stupid to know that Panacea, we need govt. to help us.

Perhaps a federal mandate so that cars could detect an upcoming RR crossing and automatically slow the car. That way we could go on talking on our cell phones. And where is the Talking on Cell Phones While Driving Czar? Obama misses another chance to expand the power of gummint.
