Rockingham, Stokes and Caswell counties are under a flood warning until 10:45 a.m. Thursday. A flood warning means flooding already has happened or is imminent. Those areas, as well as Henry and Pittsylvania counties in Virginia, will get another 2 to 3 inches of rain on top of the 1 to 2 inches that already has fallen.
These Triad counties are under a flash flood watch through Thursday morning and a wind advisory through 6 a.m. Friday:
Alamance County
Davidson County

Randolph County
A flash flood warning was lifted for Guilford County at about 10:30 a.m. today.
A flood advisory was lifted for Randolph County this afternoon.
These areas will see total rainfall amounts of between 3 and 5 inches by Thursday morning. Smaller creeks and streams could flood. Fallen leaves and other debris could clog storm drains and result in heavier-than-usual street flooding.
The wind advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Friday. Sustained winds of 20 mph are likely, with frequent gusts of 30 to 40 mph.

In Virginia, Henry and Pittsylvania counties are included in the flood watch and wind advisory areas.
These areas will see total rainfall amounts of between 3 and 4.5 inches by 6 a.m. Thursday.
This heavy rain will cause small creeks and streams to flood by Wednesday afternoon. Larger rivers — the Dan, Yadkin and New — could see flooding by Wednesday night or early Thursday in the flood watch area.
Also in this area, expect northeast winds of between 15 to 30 miles with gusts of up to 45 mph. The wet soil makes trees more prone to being blown down.
The wind advisory is in effect from noon today to 6 a.m. Thursday.
