ELON 85, GREENSBORO COLLEGE 61: Drew Spradlin scored a game-high 19 points as the Phoenix overpowered the visiting Pride in an exhibition men's basketball game Monday night at Alumni Gym.
Joining Spradlin in double figures for Elon were Chris Long (14 points), Devan Carter (13) and T.J. Douglas (10). Adam Constantine grabbed 12 rebounds.
"We have been implementing a completely new system for the last couple months," Elon coach Matt Matheny said, "and I thought we were better tonight than we were last week. We continue to take small steps forward."
Adam Powell led Greensboro with 12 points, and Walter Brady grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds. Lewis Owenby and freshmen Luqman Tijani (Page) and John Auslander added eight points each.
"We can take some good things out of this game," said Greensboro coach Bryan Galuski. "We came out and played hard, but had trouble hitting shots."

NO. 16 OHIO STATE 100, ALCORN STATE 60: Evan Turner had the second triple-double in Buckeyes history (14 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists) as Ohio State routed the visiting Braves in the 2K Sports Classic. The only previous triple-double at Ohio State belonged to Dennis Hopson, who had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a 1986 win over Ohio U.
The Buckeyes play a second-round game Thursday night against James Madison in Columbus, then face North Carolina in a semifinal next week at New York's Madison Square Garden.
WOMEN
WAKE FOREST 109, MARS HILL 65: Freshman Sandra Garcia scored 22 points and three other Deacons also hit double figures as Wake routed the Bulldogs in an exhibition game in Winston-Salem.
